Maintenance Improvement
Problem Statement:

Client approached Rigmech to address reported unacceptable maintenance burden on ‘decommissioned’ hydrocarbon processing equipment.
Rigmech Actions:
Rigmech Engineer attended site to gain insight on issues and liaised with site & support teams to fully understand problem areas. Assessment was carried out to determine which equipment packages posed greater risk in terms of impact to business.

Decommissioning scopes were defined and scheduled on a risk-based prioritisation approach.
Full cost / risk benefit analysis delivered to client to facilitate budget approvals.

Detailed site survey on process systems were conducted and work packs generated by Rigmech Engineer which were approved by all relevant technical authorities and management. Scopes were entered into planning system and execution was carried out by contracted personnel.

Work Management System maintenance reviews to ensure all inspection and maintenance systems reflected ‘as-built’ conditions in field to ensure all operational and non-operational equipment was maintained at the correct level.

Rigmech approach was subsequently adopted and rolled out to 2 further sites, realising significant reduction in process inventory and subsequent risks including savings on maintenance burden.
